Connect and Configure Multiple Monitors

Extend your workspace with additional displays.

Connect Your Monitor

  1. Connect the monitor to your computer using the appropriate cable (HDMI, DisplayPort, USB-C, or VGA)
  2. Connect the monitor to power
  3. Turn on the monitor
  4. Windows should automatically detect it

Configure Display Settings

  1. Right-click on your desktop
  2. Select Display settings
  3. You'll see your monitors represented as numbered boxes
  4. Click Identify to see which number corresponds to which monitor
  5. Drag the monitor boxes to match their physical arrangement

Choose Display Mode

In Display settings, scroll to "Multiple displays" and choose:

Quick switch: Press Windows + P to quickly change display modes.

Set Primary Monitor

  1. In Display settings, click the monitor you want as primary
  2. Scroll down and check Make this my main display
  3. Your taskbar and desktop icons will appear on this monitor

Adjust Resolution and Scaling

  1. Click on a monitor in Display settings
  2. Scroll to Scale to adjust text/icon size
  3. Scroll to Display resolution to change resolution
  4. Use the monitor's recommended resolution for best quality

Monitor Not Detected?

  1. Check all cable connections
  2. Try a different cable or port
  3. Click Detect in Display settings
  4. Restart your computer
  5. Update your graphics drivers
