Clearing a Paper Jam
Paper jams are a common printer issue. Follow these steps to safely clear them.
Safety First
- Turn off the printer before attempting to clear the jam
- Wait for any hot components to cool down
- Remove paper gently to avoid tearing
Step-by-Step Guide
- Open the printer's access panels (front, back, or both)
- Locate the jammed paper
- Gently pull the paper in the direction of paper travel
- Check for any small torn pieces of paper
- Close all panels securely
- Turn the printer back on
- Print a test page

- Don't overfill the paper tray
