Reset Your Microsoft 365 Password

Reset Your Password from the Sign-In Page

If you've forgotten your Microsoft 365 password, you can reset it yourself without contacting IT.

Steps to Reset

1. Go to login.microsoftonline.com
2. Enter your email address and click Next
3. Click "Forgot my password"
4. Complete the CAPTCHA verification
5. Choose your verification method:
   • Text my mobile phone - Enter the code sent via SMS
   • Call my mobile phone - Answer and press # to verify
   • Email my alternate email - Enter the code sent to your backup email
6. Create a new password (must be at least 8 characters with a mix of letters, numbers, and symbols)
7. Click Finish

Tips for a Strong Password

• Use at least 12 characters
• Include uppercase and lowercase letters
• Add numbers and special characters (!@#$%)
• Avoid personal information like birthdays or names
• Don't reuse passwords from other accounts
