Fix Connection Issues with a Router Restart

Restarting your Spectrum equipment often resolves internet connectivity problems.

Method 1: Manual Restart (Recommended)

  1. Locate your Spectrum modem and router (may be separate devices or combined)
  2. Unplug the power cable from the modem first
  3. If you have a separate router, unplug it too
  4. Wait 60 seconds
  5. Plug the modem back in first
  6. Wait for the modem lights to become steady (about 2 minutes)
  7. Then plug in the router
  8. Wait another 2 minutes for full startup
  9. Test your connection

Method 2: Via My Spectrum App

  1. Download the My Spectrum app (iOS or Android)
  2. Sign in with your Spectrum account
  3. Go to Services > Internet
  4. Tap Experiencing Issues?
  5. Follow the prompts to restart your equipment

Method 3: Via Web Browser

  1. Go to spectrum.net/support/internet
  2. Sign in to your account
  3. Click Restart Equipment
