Fix Connection Issues with a Router Restart
Restarting your Spectrum equipment often resolves internet connectivity problems.
Method 1: Manual Restart (Recommended)
- Locate your Spectrum modem and router (may be separate devices or combined)
- Unplug the power cable from the modem first
- If you have a separate router, unplug it too
- Wait 60 seconds
- Plug the modem back in first
- Wait for the modem lights to become steady (about 2 minutes)
- Then plug in the router
- Wait another 2 minutes for full startup
- Test your connection
Method 2: Via My Spectrum App
- Download the My Spectrum app (iOS or Android)
- Sign in with your Spectrum account
- Go to Services > Internet
- Tap Experiencing Issues?
- Follow the prompts to restart your equipment
Method 3: Via Web Browser
- Go to spectrum.net/support/internet
- Sign in to your account
- Click Restart Equipment

- Online light solid: Connected to internet
- Online light blinking: Trying to connect
- No lights: Check power connection
- All lights blinking: Updating firmware (wait 20 mins)
Important Tips
- Always restart the modem before the router
- Wait the full 60 seconds - this clears the device memory
- If you have a combined modem/router, one restart is enough
