Is There an Outage in Your Area?
Before troubleshooting, check if Comcast/Xfinity is experiencing service issues in your area.
Method 1: Xfinity Status Center (Quickest)
- Visit xfinity.com/support/status
- Sign in with your Xfinity account
- The page will automatically check your service address
- You'll see if there's an outage affecting your area
Method 2: Xfinity Mobile App
- Open the Xfinity app on your phone
- The app will display any outage alerts on the home screen
- Tap Internet for more details
- If there's an outage, you'll see estimated restoration time
Method 3: Text Message
- Text "OUT" to 266278 from your registered phone
- You'll receive a text with outage information
Method 4: Call Automated System
- Call 1-800-XFINITY (1-800-934-6489)
- The automated system will tell you if there's an outage
What to Do During an Outage
- Don't restart your equipment - it won't help during an outage
- Check the status page for estimated restoration time
- Use mobile data as a backup if available
- Outages are usually resolved within a few hours
